The short version: a CV you check or restyle is read, used for that one request, and discarded. Nothing is kept unless you sign in and save it — and then you can download or delete it whenever you like.

Checking, building and restyling a CV
- Checking or restyling: your file and the job description are read in memory, the text is sent to our AI service to score it and suggest changes, and the result is sent back to your browser. The file and its text are not written to our database or storage.
- Building: what you type in the CV builder is kept in your own browser so you can come back to it. It is sent to our servers only to write the CV lines, and not stored there unless you save it.
- AI processing: we use Azure OpenAI, operated by Microsoft. Under Microsoft's terms, what we send is not used to train its models.
If you sign in to save your CVs
- We keep your email address, the CVs and drafts you choose to save, and when you last signed in.
- Sign-in is by a six-digit code sent to your email. A code works for 10 minutes; a session lasts 60 days.
- From My CVs you can download everything we hold about you, or delete your account — which deletes your saved CVs at once.
- Accounts are for people aged 18 or older.
Payments
Paid templates are bought through Razorpay. We receive a record that the payment succeeded; your card, UPI or bank details go to Razorpay, not to us.
Logs and security
Like any website, our servers record each request — the page or service called, the time, the result and your IP address — to keep the service running and to stop abuse, such as automated checks. These logs do not contain your CV and are deleted after 30 days. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Where your data is
Our services and database run in Microsoft Azure's Central India region. We do not sell your data or share it with employers, recruiters or advertisers.
Your rights and contact
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time. Most of it you can do yourself from My CVs; for anything else, write to hireorbit.app@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days.
Applying for a job through HireOrbit is different: the CV you submit with an application is shared with that employer, who decides how long it is kept. This page covers the free CV tools.
